Hello everyone, welcome to Tumba Sweden, in Alfa Laval training center. My name is Nicolas Meslot, and I am part of the service organisation and we've prepared for you some short movies to introduce you to the operation of the PureBilge oily water separator. The intent of the short movies is to help you to use the machine in a basic user level and I of course encourage you to read the manuals in case you want to learn the machine more deeply and also you can talk to your local Alfa Laval representative to have more information. So, this first movie is an introduction of the machine and its components and here is the PureBilge, It's an oily water separator and intent of this machine is to clean the bilge water present on board the ship so that you can discharge it overboard into the sea. It is a centrifugal separator like the other Alfa Laval purifiers for fuel oil or lube oil so it's working in a bit of a same way. Alright, I'll show you to the different components. So first I will start with the feed pump, which is over there. It is taking the water from the bilge tanks and feeding it into the machine. And this feed pump is driven by a variable frequency drive which is separate also and currently is mounted here. It allows you to adjust the feed flow of the pump. And then, the bilge water is entering into the bilge water separator, which is here, it's the main module. And the different components on this main module are first this strainer down there, and then there is a preheater on the back. And then the bilge water entering into the high-speed separator, which is down here. So this machine is using centrifugal force to remove the oil and the particles from the bilge water, so the oil is removed into this sludge tank, same for the particles and then the clean water is going out through this line. Then it's entering into a polishing filter in case it is a 5 ppm module, so this one is a 5 ppm module, so there is polishing filter. The standard module is the 15 ppm type and there is no filter on standard module. And then in any case, part of the clean water is sent into the oil content meter, which is over there. And this is measuring how much oil there is in the water and it is deciding if you can discharge overboard into the sea or not. So the oil should be less than 15 ppm, 15 parts per million, in the bilge water and then you can discharge it overboard. So to discharge it overboard, this is the V5 overboard control valve, so if everything is ok, you have clean water then you can move this one to discharge to the sea position. And here you have the control cabinet. It's controlling all those valves, taking the information from the instruments and this is also where you can start and stop the machine and control what is going on. Yes, that's it for the first introduction movie. I'll see you later in other PureBilge training videos.
