Hello everyone!
In this movie, I will show you the details
of the oil content meter.
So, this is the device.
And it's function is that it is measuring how
much oil there is
in the water outlet of the PureBilge.
So it's pretty important, because it is the
one which is deciding if you can send the
bilge water overboard or not.
This version is the Deckma OMD 24.
It is by far the most common on our PureBilge.
There are some other types, but we won't
present all those there, mainly this one.
So, it's made of four different parts.
First one, being the measuring cell, which
is right here.
This is where the oil content measurement
takes place.
There is a desiccator on it, and here there
is a plug which you can remove to clean the
measuring cell.
Second part is the three-way valve, here.
It's used to be able to flush the measuring
cell with fresh water, then you can check
that you have 0 ppm of oil when you are flushing
with fresh water.
Here you also have a flow switch.
It is used so that you ensure that you constantly
have a sampling flow going to
the measuring cell when you're operating the machine.
And last part is the computer unit here.
It is the one that is controlling the sensor
where you can set alarm level.
So you can also see here on the screen the
oil content meter, the oil level, sorry.
And then if you go into this menu of the alarms,
you can set the alarm level, alarm delays
and you can also offset a little bit in case
you have for example 3 ppm with fresh water,
then you offset minus 3 here.
You have also the output 4-20 mA, it's
ok.
So.
Of course if you have 15 ppm alarm, which
is standard, you cannot set the alarm level
to above 15 ppm.
And this one is a 5 ppm, it's optional, so
you cannot set the alarm level above 5 ppm.
The other menus you have, it's for example
here, you can go into the measuring cell details.
So if you scroll down you can see the status
of the measuring cell and you can also check
the humidity.
It should not be more than 40% or else you
need to change the desiccator here.
And here you also have the log where this
active device logging all the data of the
oil content in the water and this is the legal
data that will be checked by the port state control
if they want to check it.
So that's it for the oil content meter.
I'll see you later in other PureBilge training
videos.
