Welcome to the Alfa Laval Test & Training Centre, located in Aalborg, Denmark. Nearly 2800 m2 in area, this remarkable space is the equivalent of a seagoing vessel. Though situated on land, it has all the key equipment and processes you would find on board. More importantly, the centre is a focal point for innovation. This is where new ideas, equipment and technologies take form in order to create a more sustainable world - and a competitive edge for Alfa Laval’s customers. In the centre’s controlled setting, each component and parameter can be steered - - either independently or as part of the whole. Here we work with the full range of marine fuels and related applications - - from fuel treatment and combustion to waste and emissions reduction. We develop and optimize our systems for compliance and efficiency - - bringing customers safe and cost-effective ways to meet challenges like the global sulphur cap. The solutions encompass not only traditional and low-sulphur fuels - - but also gas and emerging fuel alternatives. With the help of a full-scale Gas Combustion Unit, inert gas production, dual-fuel boiler systems and more - - Alfa Laval is helping to reshape the fuel landscape right here at the centre. Much of what we do in this space is done together - - in partnership with customers, universities and others in the marine industry.
